Land Consumption Monitoring with SAR Data and Multispectral Indices

چکیده

Land consumption is the increase in artificial land cover, which a major issue for environmental sustainability. In Italy, Italian Institute Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) National System (SNPA) have institutional duty to monitor yearly, through photointerpretation of high-resolution images. This study intends develop methodology order produce maps consumption, by use semi-automatic classification multitemporal images, reduce effort detecting real changes. The developed uses vegetation indices calculated over time series images decision rules. Three variants were applied detect changes that occurred Italy between years 2018 2019, results validated using ISPRA official data. show produced include large commission errors, but thanks methodology, area be photointerpreted was reduced 7300 km2 (2.4% surface). third variant provided highest detection changes: 70.4% larger than 100 m2 (the pixel size) 84.0% above 500 m2. Omissions are mainly related single changes, while detected at least one most cases. conclusion, can improve focusing work selected areas automatically.

Land Subsidence Monitoring with Differential SAR Interferometry

The potential of differential SAR interferometry for land subsidence monitoring is reported on. The principle of the technique and the approach to be used on a specific case are first presented. Then significant results using SAR data from the ERS satellites for various sites in Germany, Mexico, and Italy, representing fast (mlyear) to slow (mmlyear) deformation velocities, are discussed. The S...

Land Subsidence Measurement with Sar Interferometric Data

The paper focuses on the measurement of land subsidence and, more generally, of land deformation phenomena using the differential interferometric SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) technique (DInSAR). The paper begins with a concise description of the properties of the differential interferometric phase, which represents the information source for the estimation of the terrain deformation phenomena...

Land-use/Land-cover Classification with Multispectral and Hyperspectral EO-1 Data

We compared the capability of the Earth Observing-1 (EO-1) Hyperion hyperspectral (HS) data with that of the EO-1 Advanced Land Imager (ALI) multispectral (MS) data for discriminating different land-use and land-cover classes in Fremont, California. We designed a classification scheme of two levels with level I including general classes and level II including more specific classes. Classificati...

Differential Sar Interferometry for Land Subsidence Monitoring: Methodology and Examples

In recent years significant progress was achieved in SAR interferometry. In this paper we report on the potential of differential SAR interferometry to map land subsidence. After a presentation of the methodology the focus will be on feasibility demonstration and accuracy assessment. The theoretical considerations are verified with the selected cases Ruhrgebiet, Mexico City, Bologna, and Eugane...

Flood Monitoring from SAR Data

Abstract This paper presents the intelligent techniques approach for flood monitoring using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite images. We applied artificial neural networks and Self-Organizing Kohonen Maps (SOMs), to SAR image segmentation and classification. Our approach was used to process data from different SAR satellite instruments (ERS-2/SAR, ENVISAT/ASAR, RADARSAT-1/2) for differen...
